This panel will feature local and regional organizers who were on the frontlines of disaster relief in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Exploring mutual aid as a template for how we can forge new social bonds and liberatory economies in the midst of ecological collapse, panelists will reflect on lessons we can take from the hurricane to envision worlds beyond the ongoing disasters of colonialism and capitalism. Panelists will include organizers involved in ongoing mutual aid work from across the region.
